Cornell Reed Group Post Doctoral Positions

I have several post-doctoral research positions within my group here at Cornell and would appreciate if you would share the summary of positions below. For all of these openings, strong computational and mathematical skills are essential, with preference for programming experience in Python, Matlab, and C/C++. Successful candidates are expected to be highly motivated, to have good communication skills in oral and written English, and to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.  Preference will be given to individuals with a proven record of peer-reviewed scholarship.

Topics:

1)      Development of integrated models of food-energy-water (FEW) systems, for the purpose of identifying interactions, synergies and feedbacks between and within these systems. Applicants for this position should have a strong background and interest in system modeling, with specific experience in one or more of the relevant systems.

2)      Developing new frameworks for groundwater management modeling under uncertainty, with a specific focus on reducing computational barriers in simulation—optimization frameworks.  Applicants for this position should have a strong background in groundwater modeling, uncertainty, and optimization.

3)      Advance exploratory modeling and uncertainty assessments of multi-sectoral dynamics within coupled natural and human systems. Applicants will need strong mathematical and computational backgrounds. This position will also require coordination across several national large-scale multi-institutional teams with the explicit goal of establishing a community of practice focused on modeling and analytical tools that are extensible, versatile, and scalable.

Interested applicants should send a CV that lists 3 references to Patrick Reed (patrick.reed@cornell.edu).   These positions will remain open until filled.
